Aurasma

We have been given a task to create an aura on an app called Aurasma. It is an app that you can get on a device with a camera. How it works is simple. First the app will ask you to create an overlay. An overlay is the picture or video that will come up over your trigger image. Then it will ask you to take a trigger image. A trigger image is the image that when your device is held up to will trigger you overlay  to play over the top. When you are taking a trigger image you have to make sure that the thing you are taking the picture of isn't 3D, isn't reflective and that the little bar at the bottom of the screen is on green.

I was paired up with Ella Davidson and we were using my Ipod touch. We decided to do 3 auras on "Sports At Dio" The first aura named sports at Dio is about some of the sports available at Dio and the trigger image can be found on the bronze plaque outside the Aquatic center.

The second aura and third auras named sports at Dio 2 and sports at Dio 3. the trigger image for sports at Dio 2 can be found on the windows and doors around the school.

We created several videos to use for the aura but every time we touched finish this familiar note popped up.

We finally found that the videos were to long. But by that stage we had taken so many video overlays that were just sitting there, that we had to many to create even a 30 second video. So after deleting the program and downloading it again we were back on. We took the trigger images and we were done. We also created a channel which goes by the name of HJBBrady. 

I think Aurasma is a very cool site and auras are always fun to make. All you need is a device with a camera that can download the Aurasma app and you can watch other people's aura and create your own. If you don't already have the app I encourage you to get it and give it a go. You can also do more research about it on the Aurasma website http://www.aurasma.com/
